Our popular models GAMA 2100 and ALPHA 1500 just got an adult little brother! A brand new BRAVUS has a thorough structure made of EPO foam, ingeniously reinforced by carbon tubes and strips, elegant shapes of a modern glider and a wing with a span of 2400 mm with "full mechanization" - controlled flaps and ailerons. Thanks to these features, BRAVUS 2400 is a perfect successor suitable for recreational thermal flying even in milder conditions on the slope - plus it's almost complete! Just attach wings, screw in two tailplane screws, connect a receiver and a battery, and you are ready to fly!
Of course, the proven advantages of the GAMA 2100 remain - big-surface wing, controlled ailerons, flaps, rudder and elevator, powerful brushless motor. The robust, yet very light, structure of expanded polyolefin with carbon reinforcements guarantees excellent resistance to damage from collisions or at least very simple repairing if the damage shall occur. To control the model you can basically use the most common 6-channel RC set - for full potential is of course better to use a 7-channel computer radio with mixings for 4 servos in the wing. Power is provided by a common LiPo 3S 2600–3000 mAh battery - again, nothing uncommon, everyone has some these days.
BRAVUS 2400 is a powerful motor glider made of very durable extruded polyolefin (EPO), powered by a brushless motor. The fuselage with mounted-on motor (with a rotary casing, C2836-850 RPM/V), ESC RAY G2 R-50SB with powerful switched BEC (for safe powering of 6 servos), rudder and elevator servos, is extruded of EPO, the "spine" is made of carbon tube. The canopy is attached via magnets. The ESC is simply programmed by the radio or by a programming card RAY G2, and can be powered by LiPo, LiFe or NiMH batteries. The 9x7" Propeller is foldable, with a turbospinner with an air-cooling hole in its centre. Motor, ESC and battery are also cooled by other intakes on the sides of the nose, and necessary outlets for warmed air are located on the sides of the fuselage, under the wings.
The two-part wing with a proven "glider" profile is also extruded of EPO, ailerons and flaps reinforced by carbon strips are controlled by 2 pairs of servos placed in the wings by short direct wire pushrods. Halves of the wing are connected by two carbon tube joints.
Tailplanes in classic arrangement are extruded from EPO and are controlled via wire linkages. The elevator is reinforced by a carbon strip as well.
The preparation for the flight of the model in the basic version requires only fastening the tailplanes (secured by a medium instant glue), attaching the wing halves, and connecting the drive battery. Controlled parts are ailerons, rudder, elevator and RPM of the motor.
To control the model you will need at least 4-channel RC set (if controlling only ailerons, rudder and elevator are enough for you), but to take full advantage of the model's potential, it is advisable to use at least 6-channel computer RC set (in this case servos of flaps are connected to one receiver channel using Y-lead), or it's even better to use 7-channel RC set allowing you to set every servo individually.
To power the BRAVUS 2400 you will need a 3S LiPo battery 11.1V with a capacity of at least 2600mAh. The model can hold 3S up to appro. 3300mAh.
The BRAVUS 2400 is suitable for intermediate pilots - for everyone, who just wants to relax flying with a powerful thermal glider. The user manual contains a thorough table with recommended rates of every channel, so you can familiarize yourself with advanced settings of the glider with ailerons and flaps, you will learn what flight modes allowing a stronger lift for circling in a thermal, or on the contrary better thrust to find another lifting current. The power of the motor is strong enough for a continuous ascent of 30–40°, so the climbing to a sufficient elevation to search for a thermal won't be a problem at all! The BRAVUS 2400 reacts sensitively even to weak thermals, so it won't get lost even in milder slope conditions. And with controlled flaps, flight modes and an airbrake, it is a completely different story!
