Fournier RF-4D with rib wing
Fournier RF-4D with rib wing
The model of the Fournier RF-4D, which has been popular for many years, is now equipped with wings in rib construction. The construction of the wings is done with precisely laser-cut components on the well-known aero-naut slipway, which enables a quick and distortion-free construction. A precise and quick construction result is aimed at with ingenious auxiliary templates. The wings are covered with a maple veneer that has already been cut to size and glued with a special textile fiber in order to achieve problem-free processing and high resilience. The material known as A-Tex is a product that is manufactured by aero-naut itself and that is used in many aero-naut kits. The typical aero-naut building instructions in 3D style enable the construction step by step and support the model builder with 3D drawings and detailed text. This makes assembly easy. The model was constructed on a scale of 1: 4 so that retractable landing gear and airbrakes could also be installed. Moderate aerobatics are possible with the Fournier. Loopings flown with feeling, effective turns, rolls or the like are no problem. Long approaches can be divided precisely with the help of the airbrakes. The wing is in two parts and has a plug made of an 18 mm duralumin tube; the horizontal stabilizer is mounted on carbon tubes and firmly glued to the fuselage. Access to the RC equipment is ensured by a large recess on the bottom of the fuselage. The wing lock can also be reached here. The GRP fuselage is of the high quality you are used to from aero-naut and has moldings and all ducts for wings and CPR. The horizontally divided, two-part GRP engine hood already has guides for centering both parts. The cockpit equipment is based on the original, these parts are made of ABS. The building instructions give further tips on how to design the interior (e.g. upholstery). The spring-loaded retractable undercarriage with hollow rubber tires was specially developed for this model. The parts made of duraluminium or steel are precisely cut with a water jet, brazed and powder-coated. The landing gear retracts into an ABS fender built into the fuselage. The pneumatic EZFW control with a compressed air cylinder with a diameter of 18 mm (bore) is designed to be single-acting. This is an important contribution to safety, as the landing gear is automatically extended if there is a loss of pressure in the system! Also included is an adjustable pressure reducer, with which the timing of the retraction or extension “scale” can be set. The control valve is also designed to be single-acting; it is actuated by pressing a z. B. on the (mini) servo mounted cam (cam), the extension takes care of a spiral spring. Only a hand pump with pressure gauge (e.g. from Robart) is not included. actuation is carried out by pressing a z. detailed 3D construction instructions, GRP fuselage and bonnet, wing kit made of lasered wooden parts, airbrakes, spinner, retractable landing gear and support wheels, spur, dummies for exhaust and filler supports, canopy, ABS parts, CNC milled parts made of plywood and GRP , Punched parts, duralumin tube, GRP tube (guidance of the plug-in), wing locking, small parts set. The construction of the wings is simplified without distortion by the well-known aero-naut slipway from Depron.
